500 million Euros; value of German imports from the Kingdom during the first 6 months of 2010
Al Wabel discusses the visit of three German trade delegations to the Chamber this year
Asharqia Chamber Acting Secretary General Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Wabel discussed the visit program of three German trade delegations to the chamber this year and opening an office of the German Machinery Manufacturers Association in the Kingdom, during his meeting with German delegation headed by Ulrich Ackermann, Director of International Relations at the German Machinery Manufacturers Association. the head of the German Petrochemical Delegation yesterday Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Chamber headquarter in Dammam.
Al Wabel referred that the German delegation visiting the Kingdom currently composing of 19 members and represents 14 German companies represents the first stage , where the Chamber organized an exhibition accompanying the visit related to petrochemicals.
Al Wabel also added that delegation members have met with their counterparts in the Eastern Region and discussed the possibility of transferring German technology in the region in line with German policy to strengthen the ties of long-term sustainable business.
As the German companies presented a wide range of products and innovations in technology for the development of petrochemical industries in the Kingdom.
For his part, Ackerman said that there is huge potential for cooperation in the petrochemical sector with the Kingdom, noting that there are petrochemical industries on a global level located in Jubail Industrial City.
Main activities of the German- Saudi Arabian Liaison for Arab Economic Affairs (GESALO), which was established in 1978, adding that the Kingdom is one of the important partners to Germany ,and focused on increasing trade between the two countries, stressing that during the first half of 2010, German exports to the Kingdom was up to 14 percent, accounting for 2.6 billion Euros. At the same time, the value of German imports from the Kingdom was about 500 million Euros during the first six months of 2010. In addition to quite a number of joint projects between Germany and Saudi Arabia, with German investments estimated by 1 billion Euro.
